PPC? What does that even mean?

1. What is PPC?

PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click. It is a media buying model where companies pay a fee everytime one of their ads is clicked (as opposed to paying whenever their ad is shown to a user, which is know as an ad impression). PPC is an online marketing tactic used to drive high quality traffic to websites through sponsored text or display ads, typically shown at the top of search engines (like Google, Bing and Yahoo), or on other platforms and websites (such as social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., or websites running display ads).

2. What's the difference between PPC and Paid search advertising?

PPC and paid search advertising are often used interchangeably because they are closely-related marketing concepts. Search engine advertising (SEA) refers to the practice of bidding on a set of specific keywords to have your ads appear in search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo when users type these keywords in. These ads are typically shown at the top or bottom of a search engine result page (SERP) and are labeled as "sponsored". Users can click on the ads to be directed to the appropriate landing page, and advertisers are charged for every click they get.Even if technically speaking they are not exactly the same, in practice, pay-per-click and paid search are often used interchangeably, with pay-per-click being the overarching digital marketing term that encompasses various forms of online ads, including (but not limited to) search ads.

3. What's the difference between PPC and Paid social media advertising?

Paid social advertising refers to the practice of paying for ads to be displayed on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn. It is often based on a CPM (Cost-per-Mille) model, meaning that the advertisers pays for ad impressions. On the other hand, even though pay-per-click ads can be displayed on social media platforms, they mainly appear on search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo, and advertisers pay for each click on their ads.

Is PPC better than SEO?

I knew you would ask. You had to. I get it.
Well, the answer is yes, you bet it is! PPC wins every time. I mean, think about it. Who needs organic traffic and a long-term, sustainable digital marketing strategy when you can just throw ridiculous amounts of money at Google every day? Right?

On the other hand… yeah, sure. Go ahead and use this small watering can to fill your swimming pool. Will it get the job done? Sure! But it’s definitely going to take a lot more time!

So… is it?

I think you get my point: approaching PPC and SEO as an “either/or” proposition is not the most effective digital marketing strategy, as both play their part to help you reach your target audience on Google. Many companies use a combination of both SEA and SEO to achieve the best results. By leveraging search marketing as a whole, they can get more visibility on Google and drive more visits to their website or landing pages.

What are the advantages of PPC?

Pay-per-click ads can provide quick results: they start driving qualified users to your website almost immediately after they are set up, and revenue in the first weeks or months. Compared to traditional forms of advertising, they’re also very cost-effective, and provide measurable data on the performance of each ad, which can be used to optimize campaigns in real-time for better results.

Why should I hire a PPC expert?

1. What are PPC and paid search advertising management services?

PPC management services are professional services provided by expert companies (consultant or agency) to help businesses and their marketing team manage and make the most of their search initiatives to promote their brand, products or services on platforms such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo. They typically consist of creating, implementing, running and optimizing pay-per-click campaigns.

2. What are the benefits of PPC services? Why should I outsource my PPC campaign management?

Paid search is a complex, time-consuming and quickly evolving field. Hiring a PPC expert and outsourcing your pay-per-click campaign management to a consultant (or agency) can save you and your marketing team time and money, while also increasing the effectiveness of your initiatives. A professional consultant has a deep understanding of the PPC landscape and is up-to-date with the latest tools, trends, and best practices. They have the skills, knowledge and experience to create, manage and optimize your account to help you get the most out of your spend and achieve better results and return on investment than you could likely achieve on your own.

How does PPC management work?

1. What does a PPC consultant (or agency) do anyway? No offense.

None taken! I get where you're coming from, and it can be difficult to understand what campaign management entails.Search advertising is not a "set it and forget it" process. The online advertising market is dynamic, competition is fierce, the algorithms and auction systems are constantly changing, and so is the consumer behavior. Managing pay-per-click ads requires ongoing monitoring, analysis and optimization based on performance data and market trends, to ensure that your campaigns are performing well and generating a ROAS that meets your goals.A professional PPC company (consultant or agency) has the expertise and experience to manage these tasks efficiently, provide insights and recommendations for improvement, and help you achieve your business goals.

2. How much do PPC management services cost?

The price of PPC management services can vary widely depending on a number of factors, such as your industry, how competitive it is, your budget, the scope of work, and the level of experience of the consultant or agency you choose. Some service providers may charge a flat monthly fee, while others may charge a percentage of ad spend. As a general rule of thumb, you should expect to invest at least $1,200 - $1,500 monthly on management fees.In addition to the management fee, you should also keep in mind that you also have to pay for your ad spend. Your PPC company should conduct an analysis to be able to tell you what budget is optimized for your specific situation, and provide a quote to let you know how much you should invest to get a good return on your investment.
